Review: Athleta Thrive Fit Fest (Harrisburg)

This past weekend I attended the Athleta Thrive Fit Fest in Harrisburg, PA. It was the first time I had ever been to a “fitness festival” but I have seen them popping up everywhere, so I decided to give one a try!

I had a great experience and got to try a lot of different workouts, products, and food that I normally wouldn’t have. The whole thing was a bit intense with back-to-back workouts scheduled, but you can pick and choose what you want to try. I, of course, wanted to try almost everything…and now I am super sore because of it! But damn if it wasn’t a great way to spend a day!

Let’s Get Active: Stretching

One of my goals for 2018 is to incorporate stretching into my regular routine. I have this goal because I want to become better at yoga, have less tightness when I spin, and have better posture.

To help me achieve this goal I have a stretching plan that I try to do 3 times per week. I came up with this plan by doing a little research online, deciding which stretches felt good, and what areas of my body needed more flexibility.

So far this year I have really noticed a difference:

  • My yoga practice has improved
  • My hips are less tight
  • I have less back pain

I usually do these stretches in the evenings while I watch TV. The whole sequence of stretches only takes about 15 minutes.

Let’s Get Active: Aerial Yoga

Guys…this whole aerial yoga thing is the most fun thing I have ever done! I am so glad that classes have finally made it to Frederick. After just a few classes I am doing things I never thought I could do! I am making beautiful shapes with my body and feeling like a badass!

Having not done aerial yoga until recently or knowing anyone who had done it – I did a lot of research to make sure it was something I could/wanted to do. So, I decided to give you all a rundown of it here so you know what to expect!

The CycleFit Effect!

For those of you following me on Instagram and Facebook, you will know that I am one of four Spinbassadors chosen to represent CycleFit Frederick!

My favorite indoor cycling studio has been a big part of my life for the past year. I did a Let’s Get Active Review of indoor cycling there and celebrated my birthday there with a Very Healthy Birthday. Not to mention the 3-4 times per week that I ride and all the friends I have made along the way!

Now, being a Spinbassador, my goal is to promote CycleFit within my community through social media and My Beautiful Ideal. I want everyone to feel the great effects of CycleFit whether you come once a month, once a week, or all the time.

The “CycleFit Effect” is different for everyone that decides to participate. So I thought for this blog post, I would share how CycleFit affects me and why I keep coming back to this great workout, studio, and group of people!
