For those of you that are interested in the recipe for the chicken shown in the last post, Roasted Asparagus, here it is! Those of you who follow the Ideal Protein Plan, this isn’t 100% phase 1 because there is some cheese involved. However, you could forgo the cheese or try some veggie cheese. Both options would be equally as delicious.
Looking for a side dish that is super easy? Then this recipe is for you! I love asparagus, but roasted asparagus takes it to a whole new level. Crispy, crunchy, and kind of reminds you of a green french fry…this roasted asparagus is the way to go! Pair the asparagus with your favorite protein and dinner is served! (I will post the recipe for the chicken in the picture next!)
If you are new to the workout game I suggest starting with walking. It’s an easy way to get moving without overworking yourself.
The CDC suggests that adults should get 10,000 steps a day. 10,000 seems like a big number, but the steps add up quicker than you think. Just add all this up…walking through the grocery store or mall counts, walking on your lunch break counts, trips to the bathroom count, the list could go on. You can easily get to 10,000 steps if you actively try to achieve it.
Here are some of my suggestions to make walking a part of your daily routine:
From the very beginning of this blog, I have shared my love of optimism. If you are optimistic there is a better chance good things will happen…at least that is the trend I have seen. (Don’t get me wrong, crappy things still happen. They are bound to happen no matter what you do.) But, could optimism not only help you have a better outlook on life but also help you be healthier?
This idea came to me while reading a New York Times article: A Positive Outlook May Be Good For Your Health.
I have a new workout obsession! I love Spin Class! I wasn’t sure at first…but in 50 minutes you get a full body workout and have fun while doing it. We look like we had fun right? #swelfies
I go to a locally owned spin studio – CycleFit Frederick. The instructors and staff are super nice and encouraging. I have fun every single time I attend a class. If you would like to know more about CycleFit specifically let me know!
