Are you still wondering what to get your friend or family member this holiday season? If they are working on being healthier or just like working out or cooking I’ve got you covered! Here are some ideas of things that I would really enjoy getting or gifting!
Being healthy on a road trip can be hard…you spend long hours in a car with nothing to do…there are convenience stores and fast food along the way…I get it!! However, it can be done! With a little preparation and a plan to stay active while you are away it will be like you never left the comfort of your daily routine!
For this trip, we drove to Wilmington, NC. If you have never been I highly recommend it! It is a cute little beach/river town with tons of things to do and see.
Here is how I stayed on track while on the road and what we got up to in Wilmington!
To help myself achieve my goals for the year I decided that I needed to start tracking my habits. Now, as much as I like writing things down I needed to find a way to track my habits that was quick and easy. I didn’t want to have to carry around another notebook. I didn’t want to have to write anything out. And I didn’t want the process to be too time-consuming. So, I turned to my trusty iPhone to see what apps were available.
Lately, I have been having trouble keeping my head in the game of weight loss. I have been at this for a while now, with plenty of success. But, I would have to say things have slowed down over the past few months.
I think when you have a lot of weight to lose gearing up for the long haul, in the beginning, is one thing…but what happens after 6 months, 1 year, etc. My feeling toward the process has definitely ebbed and flowed. Sometimes I am really excited about the whole thing – the planning, the results, the feedback from those around me – but other times all I really want to do is sit on my couch and shove all the food in my mouth.Read More »
I am known for being quite the planner. I plan my workouts, I plan time hanging out with friends and family, I plan activities at work, and I especially plan my meals. Every week I sit down and map out a plan for what I am going to cook for the week. I believe that this practice has really helped me to be successful in my weight loss. Every week I know exactly what I need to eat and there is very little wiggle room. This helps me to stay on track and not get caught up in cravings.
So, in hopes of inspiring you to start meal planning I wanted to provide a Meal Planning/Prep 101 post. I will walk you step-by-step through my meal planning/prep process. By following this process it should help save some money at the grocery store and to stay on your healthy eating plan!
Step 1: Find a good way to record your meal planning
I prefer to use pen and paper for this step. But you could easily use an app or computer program to record your meal planning. You need to have somewhere you can have a weekly calendar and a grocery list. You will be referring back to this record frequently to know what to buy and when to prep and eat your meals.
