Are you still wondering what to get your friend or family member this holiday season? If they are working on being healthier or just like working out or cooking I’ve got you covered! Here are some ideas of things that I would really enjoy getting or gifting!
Autumn is my favorite time to get out and enjoy nature… it’s not too hot, it’s not too cold…its just right to get outside!
One of my favorite outside activities is hiking! It’s like walking, but better, and there is usually a beautiful view as a reward at the end! Now, I don’t do any bouldering or scrambling on my hikes. I usually pick a trail that is labeled as moderate difficulty…I don’t need to go breaking anything. Plus, no matter what anyone else says, hiking doesn’t have to be difficult. It’s more about getting out there and having fun!
I am no novice when it comes to charity events. I volunteer a lot in my community and really like to give back. Most recently, I participated in Walk MS and it was so much fun to get some exercise in, support a great cause, and interact with others.
However, two weekends ago I stepped up my game and participated in a 30-mile charity bike ride! The bike ride called Tour de Frederick supported my local Boys and Girls Club and the Rotary Club. The Tour de Frederick had many options for people to participate including 10-mile, 30-mile, 60-mile, and 100-mile rides! This being my first year I felt that the 30-mile option was best!
In June I shared a blog post about my starting to run. If you follow me on Instagram you have seen that I have continued to follow the C25K training plan…and I am almost to the end! This week I will officially run my first full 5K! Over the past 8 (ish) weeks I have learned a lot about running and more importantly myself! So, let me update you on it all!
