Looking for a side dish that is super easy? Then this recipe is for you! I love asparagus, but roasted asparagus takes it to a whole new level. Crispy, crunchy, and kind of reminds you of a green french fry…this roasted asparagus is the way to go! Pair the asparagus with your favorite protein and dinner is served! (I will post the recipe for the chicken in the picture next!)
From the very beginning of this blog, I have shared my love of optimism. If you are optimistic there is a better chance good things will happen…at least that is the trend I have seen. (Don’t get me wrong, crappy things still happen. They are bound to happen no matter what you do.) But, could optimism not only help you have a better outlook on life but also help you be healthier?
This idea came to me while reading a New York Times article: A Positive Outlook May Be Good For Your Health.
While on any diet or healthy eating plan, grocery shopping is especially important. Having a plan before you go to the store is your best defense against buying things you don’t need/shouldn’t be buying. So, I thought I would share with you the process I use for my weekly grocery shop.
Disclaimer: I only shop/cook for one. However, the ideas below can easily be used for more than one person.
Happy new year everyone! It’s been a fair few days since I have been able to write a new blog post. My weekly schedule went out the window for the end of 2016. The reason was because I was sick (I firmly believe this was 2016 giving me one last kick in the side – thank goodness it’s 2017 now!) I have a chronic illness that can flare up whenever it wants and it decided to flare just in time for the holidays! I am over it now and feeling but better. But, it made think what happens when you are on the path to a healthier lifestyle and you get sick?

Christmas is upon us and the gift buying has started! Whether family members, friends, or even just yourself are trying to live a healthy lifestyle buying gifts for that person can be a struggle. Candy canes, Reese’s Peanut Butter Christmas Trees, and gift cards to their favorite restaurant aren’t going to cut it this year! Even buying clothes can be hard if they are losing weight!
Have no fear here is my gift guide for anyone on your list that is working to achieve a healthier lifestyle. I have grouped the gifts together depending on the type of person you are buying for: healthy eater, fitness buff, or calm body and mind. These products are some of my favorites and I would be happy with any one of these under my tree!
