Winter Beauty Essentials

This winter seems to be neverending. As this post is going live, Western Maryland is getting a lovely 5-8 inches of snow.

In the meantime, I thought I would share some of my favorite winter beauty essentials. The cold, dry air can certainly do a number on anyone’s skin – this is how I deal with it.

Also, if you follow my Instagram you would have seen that I applied to be a part of the #SephoraSquad.

They are looking for someone to be a “unique, unfiltered, sorry-not-sorry storyteller.” I have never shied away from telling you guys how it is! So, I would really appreciate it if you could support me in joining the #SephoraSquad. If you want to help out, please go leave a testimonial for me HERE.

I break down my winter beauty essentials into 4 categories – face, lips, body, and feet. These are the areas I have the hardest time dealing with during winter.

For each of the categories, I have provided two products – one is more expensive and the other is a cheaper option. Depending on how I am feeling, how my bank account looks, and whether I want to treat myself I pick and choose between all these options. They all work great! If you click on the products pictures you can go straight to Amazon to get them!

Clinique Moisture Surge – this is one of my favorite moisturizers. It can be used year-round, but my skin especially needs it in the winter. A little goes a long way, it goes on light, and your skin doesn’t feel super greasy. Dry patches be gone!Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Moisturizer – same idea as the Moisture Surge, just half the price. Neutrogena also offers an eye cream, body gel, SPF, exfoliating cleanser, and makeup in this range as well.

Jack Black Intense Therapy Lip Balm, SPF 25 – yeah…I know this is technically a men’s product…but who cares? I got a free sample of this from Sephora a while back and have used it ever since. I don’t know what it is about the Jack Black’s lip balm formula, but if you have chapped lips they will be back to normal in no time when you use this stuff. All the flavors are top notch! The added SPF is nice too, you have to protect those lips!Burt’s Bees 100% Natural Moisturizing Lip Balm – another great lip balm. And trust me, always just buy the multi-pack. You will need one for your desk, your bag, your car, etc, etc. I always go for the original flavor, I really like the minty feel of that one.

The Body Shop Body Yogurt, 48 Hr Moisturizer – a great, light-weight body lotion. This is perfect for using in the morning before you get dressed. It settles into the skin easily and doesn’t leave any sticky residue. Those skinny jeans will still go on with no problem! The almond milk and mango are my favorite.

Dove Cream Oil Shea Butter Body Lotion – I am a big fan of Dove products…their soap…their body scrubs, but this lotion is one of my favorite. It’s a little heavier than The Body Shop option, so I typically use it before bed and the smell is 100% worth it!

Formula 2 Skin Care Cream – I had a podiatrist suggest this cream to me at some point and I have continued to use it winter, after winter. It can be used all over the body, but I slather it on my feet, pop some socks on, and let it do its magic. My feet are always soooo much softer and more moisturized afterward.

Soap & Glory Heel Genius Amazin Foot Cream – This cream isn’t as “heavy duty” as the Formula 2, but it still gets the job done. I do the same thing – slap it on and throw on some socks. Not only is this one cheaper, but it is also a little bit more spa-like vs. medical-like.All of these items can be found on Amazon, of course! I love my Amazon Prime – find what you need, order it, and it’s at your door in 2 days! Don’t have prime yet? What are you waiting for? Start your 30-day free trial NOW!
