Every year I am never sure what to do for my birthday. Do I want a relaxing day at home? Do I want to do dinner with friends? Do I want to plan a fun activity? This year was no different. I was almost to the point where I wasn’t going to do anything but then I realized my birthday fell on a Sunday…and every Sunday morning I go to spin class…
So I decided to plan a “Cyclefit and Brunch” party. A lot of my friends always ask me about my spin classes – is it hard? would I like it? why is it your favorite type of workout? So I decided to let them experience it for themselves! My local spin studio CycleFit Frederick – which I have reviewed in a previous post – was great! They helped to make sure all my friends got signed up, made sure they were all riding safe, and that there were different variations for the exercises so everyone felt comfortable.
Everyone made it through their rides unscathed! And unless they were just lying to me 🙂 had a pretty fun time too! Practicing a healthy lifestyle is such a big part of my life these days I was glad to share it with those around me.
Next, since I had just put my friends through a spin class we all got cleaned up and went to brunch! We strolled the streets of downtown Frederick and went to a local British pub.
Because it was my birthday I did indulge a little bit. I mean the restaurant gave me a chocolate lava cake with a candle…you can’t not eat that! Plus, there was a plethora (one of my favorite words) of food to eat for brunch.
Overall, I think this was a pretty awesome birthday! Thank you to all my friends – Nikki, Melissa, Courtney, Meghan, Andy, Maya, and Brenda – who came out! Also, a special shout out to Brenda for all of these beautiful pictures!!
